Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence ( AI) is now a part of everyday life, from e-commerce to social media algorithms. This trend explosion is also said to reach images and music in 2023. This was conveyed by Addo's CEO & Co-Founder, Ayesha Khanna.

"AI will not replace humans, AI will become a new team member for humans in many jobs, contributing ideas and concepts," said Ayesha.

The futurist and book author Bernard Marr conveyed the same thing, who said that the focus of AI would be to increase workers. This is because new tools are available to enable the workforce to fully leverage AI.

Ayesha also added that more work is currently needed to ensure generative AI co-pilot . For example, like Copilot GitHub, to help developer code, especially in healthcare.

Metaverse

Metaverse technology is also said to be a trend in 2023, even though the company that originated it, Meta, failed and lost billions of dollars in efforts to develop this technology.

“Retail and entertainment companies will be launching increased pilots on how to build customer engagement and loyalty across multiple metaverses , particularly gaming platforms like Roblox,” explained Ayesha.

Ayesha added that metaverse natives who grew up playing games and socializing in alternative digital realities will encourage the company to organize various activities such as concerts, fashion weeks, to edutainment through the metaverse in 2023.

The Metaverse is also said to be the arrival of more small companies joining large organizations that have previously established posts within the metaverse , further enlivening this trend in 2023.

Sustainable Technology

Abishur Prakash, founder and geopolitical futurist at the Center for Innovating The Future (CIF), said that all areas of technology-based sustainability will play an important role in 2023.

“Clean energy projects, such as taking solar-generated electricity from Africa to Europe will advance in 2023, adding a new dimension to the global energy war,” explained Abishur.

While Associate Professor at the School for The Future of Innovation in Society & School of Sustainability at Arizona State University, Cynthia Selin said that carbon capture and carbon storage will be increasingly important.

Cynthia noted that direct aerial capture could continue to receive attention alongside natural removal mechanisms, such as reforestation. He also revealed that many new pilot projects are developing around the world to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Semiconductors and Self-Reliance

Abishur also predicts that the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine will open a new era related to geopolitics and globalization, which will then also affect every aspect of technology in 2023.

The battle for semiconductors, which are the main devices for smartphones , computers, cars, and household appliances, will also become a trend. Abishur explained that semiconductors will change world affairs in 2023, as well as become a competition between the United States and China.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Cynthia is confident that IoT technology will transform the energy sector in 2023. She explained that the number of devices entering the smart sensor and data-driven intelligence market will continue to increase.

Bernard Marr himself predicts that there will be an increase in products in IoT services, which he says will have a lot to do with individual health and well-being in 2023. Adds to the need to take advantage of new technologies.

"Utilizing devices such as smart watches that offer sensors to monitor various health indicators," concluded Bernard.
